20200323 Day 1

Ella Mae's post

Today, it was cold. The sky was full of grey clouds. The clouds made me sad because I couldn't go to school and it was a dull morning.

First, we got changed into our school uniform. We ran 2km to pretend to go to school. It was very tiring running for a long time. I did not step on any poo.

Then we had assembly and sang the Australian National Anthem.

After that, I went on Seesaw to do tasks set by my teacher.

Then, I went on Reading Eggspress to earn eggs and cards. I earned lots of cards and bought lots of pets. I bought different wall papers too. It was fun to put the things in my house and see them get delivered.

Also, after that, my stinky brother and I did skipping together. I was very good and my highest skipping in a row was 40 skips.I felt very tired and wanted to play on the computer.

I spoke to my grandparents in Adelaide, Gung Gung and Por Por. It was good to see them on FaceTime as I was missing them.

I wrote to my friend, Allanah about how I missed her and what I had been doing.

I like school better because I get playtime with my friends. I miss Allanah, Will P, Will L, Mimi and Maya.

Thomas's post

I wish I had school because I have lots of fun there. That is not to say that I did not have fun at home.

If  I had a choice between staying home or go to school, I would choose to go to school. I 😍 school!

I went for a walk in the morning. It was very annoying because we usually cycle on Mondays.

I also played basketball with my beautifully annoying sister.

I was on the computer a lot more than normal, which was many hours. My eyes are fine but my mum said that my eyes are red and square looking but still handsome. Unfortunately my teacher did not have any work set out for me. So, my mum set me some tasks that were extremely not exciting (in fact, a little bit boring [I do not like non digital NAPLAN tests or writing.]).

Today I also had fun. At the moment, I am playing a game, Giant Rabbit Run( 🐰🐰). It is one of my favourite games.

I had a toasted egg muffin. Mmm. Yum.

The weather today was cloudy with a chance of rain. My mum looked outside the window and jumped 5 foot in the air and landed with a smack! She rushed outside and the clothes were soaking. She put her face into her hands and sobbed.

I miss my friends, Bruno, James, Jonah, Felix and Leo.

Hopefully I can go to school soon.

Suet Mun's post

We thought we should stick to a routine. The morning was the same. They woke up at the same time. Got dressed into their uniforms. Made bed. Breakfast. Piano. Gymnastics.

Exercise and fresh air was essential. We pretended that they were going to school. We jogged to the park towards school and looped back around in order to achieve 2km.

As assembly is normally on a Monday morning, we sang the National Anthem. With full respect and without fidgeting.

Ella Mae went online and got on with her tasks. She was happy going from task to task. So, once in a while, I would stop her and get her to drink water. Also, suggested to her that she should do some writing. She decided to write a letter to her friend Allanah.

Thomas was not set any tasks. He wanted to play on the computer. I suggested that he should do some grammar worksheet. I also asked him to do some writing which he suddenly threw a tantrum. He complained about how boring writing is and how much he loathes that task. He didn't mind typing. But writing was a horrendous task. Nevertheless, I had a treat waiting for him and he did that task without further complain.

I had to attend online meetings with my colleagues even though it was not my work day. I made sure that the computer was set up in order to start work tomorrow morning. I found that I was constantly checking my emails and messages from work as they popped in. In some way, I was working as the work was just there. The children were occupied with technology.

I enjoyed making fresh snacks and lunch for them. I think the children liked their food freshly made as well. They also finished their food rather than leave them in the lunch boxes for later. I am glad we do not have to wash their many lunch boxes every day and can put their dirty plates in the dishwasher instead.

By the time Kim arrived home, I had had enough. Totally exhausted. Wine time.
